Cardiac Scan
Cardiac scan is a dedicated scan that examines the fetal cardiac anatomical structures and function. Basic checks of the fetal heart such as position, cardiac to chest ration, and 4 chamber/outflow tracts are examined during anomaly scan and now at 11-13+6 weeks scan
A more detailed examination is carried out if the basic check in pregnancy is suspicious, increased NT in 1st trimester, or there are strong positive background history, including history of diabetes mellitus.
